Read usage information without confusing an estimate with a charge.

What usage can tell you
Usage views help you understand model activity. Depending on the provider and reporting available, you may see tokens, model names, dates, or estimated costs. Not every provider supplies the same detail.
A token is a unit of model input or output. Input, output, cached input, and reasoning can be priced differently. Refer to the selected provider’s pricing information for its definitions and current rates.
Estimates are not invoices
An estimated cost is useful for comparing activity, but it is not a payment receipt. Pricing changes, caching, reporting delays, missing detail, and provider-specific accounting can cause differences.
For your own provider connections, the provider’s billing dashboard and invoices are the records to consult about actual charges. Virillio’s upcoming credits are a separate offering.
Review account activity
Open the dashboard usage page if usage reporting is available for your account. Check the selected dates and filters before drawing conclusions. An empty view means no matching records were reported; it does not prove you made no requests or incurred no provider charges.
If the app and provider disagree, compare the same time range, provider, and model. Do not add overlapping summaries together as though they represent separate requests.
Reduce unnecessary usage
Keep tasks focused, attach relevant context, choose a suitable model, and avoid repeatedly resending a failing request. Use provider spending limits where available. A displayed estimate or notification preference is not necessarily a hard spending cap.
